Bring Fall into Your Home on a Budget

We had the pleasure of visiting the Fox 8 studio in High Point, North Carolina to deliver some of our favorite tips on “how-to” Bring Fall into your Home on a Budget.

As a company founded on the principles of being unforgettable, we are always priding ourselves on being experts on being signature without breaking the bank.  We enjoy reviewing the “must haves” and finding them on a “must be within” budgets.  We love showing people how to celebrate and look great for less.

Bring Fall into your Home on a Budget by following these tips:

  • Accessorize with Autumn– select a color scheme; limiting your color palette creates a warm and polished look.  Dressing the table with a simple seasonal centerpiece.  We chose to fill a vase with apples and mums, items you can get from your local grocery store or Farmer’s Market.  This vase can be filled with artificial vase fillers as well.
  • Kids Corner– create a welcoming area for the kids with a vinyl table cloth for durability and easy cleaning; a vase can double as an organizer as they can be filled with pencils, crayons, etc.
  • Signature Element– every party needs a ‘wow’ factor.  At Sociably Yours, we call our ‘wow’ factor the Signature Element.  A fabulous twist on the candy bar is the candy apple bar.  Allow guests to party now and take a favor for later.  This is fun for adults and children.

Candy Apple Bar

Pull stem off of apples and replace with stick.  Chill them in the refrigerator until ready to use.

In a saucepan (on low heat) melt caramel dipping sauce.  This can be purchased already made in the grocery store (usually located in the produce section near the apples).

In a separate saucepan (on low heat) melt chocolate chips (the 2 pound bag).

Pour the warm melted caramel and the warm melted chocolate into separate wide shallow bowls.

Holding onto the stick, swirl each apple into the preferred dipping sauce

Cover with additional toppings

Once each apple is covered, place on parchment paper, wax paper or a baking sheet.

Allow caramel to set.  It may take awhile to set a room temperature so place in the refrigerator to chill.

Enjoy!
