We were able to stop by the Fox 8 WGHP studio last Thursday and share our spooktacular recipes for what to do with the excess of candy.
Spooktacular Halloween Candy Bark
Ingredients
2 teaspoons butter
1-1/2 pounds white chocolate (chocolate chip morsels)
2 cups pretzels, coarsely chopped
10 Oreo cookies, chopped
¾ cup candy corn (optional)
¾ cup dry roasted peanuts
½ cup milk chocolate M&M’s
½ cup Reese’s Pieces
Directions
Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper; grease paper with butter. In a microwave, melt the white chocolate; stir until smooth. Spread onto greased parchment paper. Sprinkle remaining ingredients onto white chocolate. Let stand for about an hour.
Break or cut into pieces. Store in an airtight container.
Crazy Creepy Halloween Blondies
Ingredients
1 cup butter, melted
2 cups packed brown sugar
2 large eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
½ teaspoon baking powder
¼ teaspoon salt
1 cup chopped pecans
2/3 cup milk chocolate M&M
2/3 cup miniature semisweet chocolate chips
2/3 butterscotch chips
1 jar (12 ounces) hot caramel ice cream topping
Directions
Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Line a 13×9 in baking pan with parchment paper, letting ends extend up sides; grease paper
In a large bowl, beat melted butter and brown sugar until blended. Beat in eggs and vanilla. In a large bowl, mix flour, baking powder, and salt; gradually add to brown sugar mixture, mixing well. Stir in half of the pecans, M&M’s, chocolate chips, and butterscotch chips.
Spread into a prepared pan. Bake 20-25 minutes or until the toothpick inserted comes out clean. Cool completely.
Spread caramel topping over bars; sprinkle remaining pecans, M&M’s, chocolate chips, and butterscotch chips. Lifting with parchment paper, remove from pan. Cut into bars
Sociably Yours Scary Sip
Ingredients
1 (.13 ounce) envelope unsweetened grape drink mix
1 (.13 ounce) envelope unsweetened orange drink mix
2 c. white sugar
3 quarts cold water
1-liter ginger ale
Directions
Stir together grape, orange, sugar, and water until solids are dissolved.
Combine with chilled ginger ale just before serving.
